Do you offer refunds for cancelled tours?
Any tour cancelled within 72 hours of the tour cannot be refunded.
Any tour cancelled outside of 72 hours will receive a 50% refund.
Any tour rescheduled will incur a $10 per ticket re-booking fee.
What if it’s raining on the day of my tour?
Tours run rain or shine. Ponchos are provided.
Is there a weight limit for the tour?
To ride a Segway, you need to be between 90-275lbs.
Is there an age limit for the tour?
No, but all guests must weigh between 90lbs – 275lbs.
How far in advance do I need to reserve?
There is limited space on each tour. Please book at least 24 hours in advance. Last minute may be available please call 267.324.5408
I’ve reserved my spot. Where do I meet you for my tour?
Your tour guide will meet you on the South West corner of 3rd and Arch Streets in Old City Philadelphia. This location is just across from a Starbucks Café, and is marked by two large trees and a green lamp post.
When should I get to this meeting spot?
You should arrive at the meeting spot 10-15 minutes before your tour time (ie: If you are scheduled for the 9am tour, be at 3rd and Arch Streets at 8:45am). Your tour guide will meet you at this location.
What do I do if I am late for my tour?
If you will be late due to unforeseen circumstances, please call the DeTours Office at 267-324-5408. The policy is that you may be no more than 15 minutes for your scheduled tour time. After this time, we will assume that you have forfeited your tour. We suggest you come early to the meeting spot.
Do we go inside the museums?
No, we do not.
What do you actually see on tour?
Please visit our route maps and you can see highlighted tour stops. In addition to these you will see several neighborhoods and many of the center city buildings, new and old. On the Mural Tour, you will see 12 finished murals. On the Cheesesteak Tour, you will visit 5 cheesesteak restaurants and the neighborhoods in-between.
What makes you different from other tours in town?
Using Segways, DeTours guides can take you in and out of areas of the city other tours simply cannot reach in a timely manner. This way you are able to receive a comprehensive tour of a very significant portion of center city including many of Philadelphia’s most famous attractions.
How large are the tours?
No more than 8 people will make up a Segway tour.
Do I have to wear a helmet?
Yes, it is mandatory to wear a helmet while riding the Segway.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes there are several lots in the Old City. It is recommended to park in a lot or leave your car at your hotel. Do not use street parking, most of the tours will not return in time for you to feed the meter!
It is very easy to reach the office via public transportation or a short taxi ride from most hotels. Please check parking lot hours of operation and rates ahead of time. The closest lot to our meeting location is on 3rd Street between Market and Arch Streets. It costs $15 for the day. Parking ticket are $39.
When I get there, are there any forms to fill out?
Yes, each guest will need to sign a hold harmless agreement.
